Skipton Castle

The original castle at Skipton was completed in 1090 and was extensively restored after being damaged in the 1640's during a 3 year siege. The restoration was completed in 1657 and this is how the castle remains today. Steeped in history, the castle is one of the best preserved in the country. Skipton Castle is open daily from 10am (Sunday 12 noon), except for 25 December. Last admission is at 6pm (October - February 4pm).
